President's Report: As of now, Pension negotiations are headed to arbitration. Cops sold out and accepted terms to split union and gave up new hires. Detailed report of PD accepted terms. Our union is maintaining a hard line on keeping current employees together, never even got into new hires. Spent all day waiting for response from city that never came as of 1730hrs it is our intention to go to arbitration. Potential still exists to meet if anything changes before our arbitration date (likely not until October if we're lucky). Advised by UPFFA, attorney, and mediator that "no changes" doesn't go over well in mediation, but changes must be reasonable. If an agreement is reached prior to arbitration date, TA can still be brought to union for ratification. Arbitrators choose one proposal for each issue, no compromises, can be $10-$100k- we're probably looking [hopefully] $30-$40k. We will have "on-the-record" meeting to submit proposals- if no negotiations still, letter of impasse will be submitted and will start paperwork to initiate arbitration process.

Heenan and Dunn went to Convention in Ohio, lengthy with a lot of votes. New FF Memorial in CO Springs; IAFF is funding it. Per capita went up 59 cents/month this year. Biggest vote was for District VPs to get a sizable raise (17.9% over 4 years). We voted against it, but it ultimately passed and increased our per capita by 9 cents. Met a lot of people and made contacts for DROP plan, and current status of things throughout the country.

Chiefs want to address OT policy again and get committee together. Any issues, please tell Dunn what the problem is so it can be specified to the Chief. Chief also wants to adjust the job descriptions for administrative staff.

EMS Billing and transport has ceased due to issues with AMR and potential audits. Will not be re-addressed until October 1st with new legislation.

All other negotiations have been halted until Pension Contract is settled.

EMT class is coming up.

October meeting will be at Station 8, nominations will be at that meeting.

November Meeting Station7, December meeting, HQ.

City is performing healthcare audit to verify current dependents. Should be submitting packet or calling. Please do not submit anything until information is verified by our attorney.
