20 May 2014

President Michael Dunn called the May monthly meeting to order 1735hrs.

Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The April monthly meeting minutes were read and accepted. Plate, Stacoffe, Unanimous

Officers and Committees:

Grievance Committee:

Safety Committee:

United Way:

Pension: $343 million.

Awards Ceremony: Ceremony went ok, some bugs to work out. Require more work.

Bylaws:

Worker's Comp:

Social Committee: Picnic is still on for Sunday, June 22nd. Pizza truck and 2 bounce houses. Information postcards will go out to all members.

St. Patrick's Day:

Retirement Diner:

Golf Committee: Up to 94 golfers, few  players haven't paid- will be axed from tournament as of Thursday. Prizes and stuff being figured out now, but everything is going smooth. Issue with ice, but working on it.

President's Report: Pension meetings are underway, ground rules completed last meeting. A lot of "off-the-record" talk, but no proposals or concrete information, City generally looking for reaction. June 10th is next meeting, Union requested City to submit proposals in writing. We can disperse ground rules to membership if so desired. Any rumors pleas squash it by seeing an E-board member and we will discuss whatever factual information we have. Meetings are generally 3-4 hours per ground rules. Board willing to go the distance if arbitration is necessary.

Four-ten hour days MOU submitted for inspectors office. No objections or discussion from floor.

Rumor about Rescues being requested to transport if AMR unavailable. "Board" concerned about transporting now potentially hurting negotiations in the future. Use discretion and best interest of patients based on needs and resources.

New Business

Mohr working on proposals for "one list" overtime policy. Looking for feedback and input before submitting. Question about process for submittal and procedure to follow. Submittal to e-board, working on resolving hiring policies as a whole. Once Chief's OT committee is established, union will put out request for feedback from membership.

Request for annual seminar/class/workshop to plan for pension, benefits, what's included/expected, etc for all members to get a better handle on how to plan throughout their careers.  Working on putting together information from past and present members to make it available to everyone. Perhaps get speakers in to monthly meetings.

Motion to adjourn: Stacoffe

2nd: Platek

Unanimous

Respectfully Submitted,

Michael Geanacopoulos, Secretary
